Remember that time when Weezer's "Pork & Beans" video came out? How excited we were that internet culture got to party with MTV culture for a few minutes? Heck, they even got the "Chocolate Rain" guy to show up and film a part just for them. It was pretty cool to be Weezer that year. But now it would seem that the band no longer has the best meme-based music video in the universe anymore. The GAG Quartet has beaten them out with the overwhelmingly meme-encrusted "le Internet Medley".
Instead of inviting internet celebrities to join them on an original tune like Weezer did, the Quartet went ahead and stitched together some of the most famous tunes across the tubes into one four-minute awesome bomb. Cats Nyan and Keyboard do, of course, make the roll call, as do pretty much every rage face in existence--rendered as full-body dancing stick figures. And yes, Ms. Black's signature work makes its own appearance, as well as a host of other net staples and old Ebaumsworld favorites.
This is basically what it looks like when the internet throws up on itself. It's a brief history of pretty much all the memes in one place. And I have to say, unlike Weezer, these three dudes (get it? Gag quartet...) have some pretty serious chops. If you've ever wanted to see someone shred the Nyan Cat song on a six-stringed bass, all your esoteric dreams are about to come true. Here it is: the whole internet in four manic musical minutes.
